They also serve who only stand and wait

In the last 10 years, we’ve lost over 7,800 service members in Iraq and Afghanistan.

All of them left behind someone–parents, siblings, children, friends–who loved them. Approximately half of them were married.

Here are the stories of two of our almost 4,000 Iraq and Afghanistan war widows.

This Memorial Day, let’s honor, along with our fallen soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines, their families. They, too, have served and sacrificed on our behalf.
